Life is Better When You are a Barn Cat

He has made everything beautiful in its time, Ecclesiastes 3:11a

I’m Jill, the barn cat at De La Cruz Farms. “Barn cat” is the official title, but I’m really more of a resident inspector of all things farm-related. And if you have a lap, I might inspect it too!

Most mornings, I make my rounds early, before the farm gets busy. I check the barn, wander the paths, and keep an eye on the bees as they start their work. Curiosity guides me through the day. Often times it’s how I end up discovering new corners of the farm, and occasionally places I’m not exactly invited into.

One thing I’m known for is sneaking into cars. They’re warm, full of interesting smells, and sometimes they move. I don’t always mean to stow away, but it happens. People are my friends and I want to get to know everyone! I usually make it back home with a good story and a reminder for humans to check their back seats.

Another thing I am known for is my acute ability of honey quality control. When the door opens to Hoove and Honey, the air smells sweet, and find myself inside, inspecting shelves. They have the best honey around so I take my job seriously to make sure that the visitors get the best the honey store has to offer!

Life at De La Cruz Farms suits me just fine. There’s always something new to explore, someone to follow, and a cozy place to rest. If you see me wandering by, that’s just me, doing my job and loving my life!
