Heart of Community Service at De La Cruz Farms!

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. – 1 Peter 4:10

When people think about community service, they often picture individuals or organizations giving their time to help others. At De La Cruz Farms, however, community service is a two-way street. Over the years, the farm has both received support from the community and given back through educational outreach and volunteer efforts.

Receiving Community Service

One example of this support came from local church youth groups that volunteered their time to paint fences around the farm. Their hard work helped improve the appearance of the property while allowing students to serve their community in a meaningful way.

Volunteers have also played a role in improving the farm’s facilities. Engineers from Arete volunteered their time and skills to help assemble the farm’s playground, creating a space where children can learn, play, and connect with agriculture in a fun environment.

Providing Community Service

While De La Cruz Farms has benefited from the generosity of volunteers, the farm is equally committed to serving the community. Team members have volunteered at the Agricultural Center, sharing their knowledge of horse anatomy and proper horse care with visitors and students. These educational opportunities help foster a greater appreciation for animals while teaching valuable skills and information.

Experiences like these demonstrate the strong relationships that make the community thrive. Whether it’s volunteers lending a hand on the farm or farm staff sharing their expertise with others, everyone benefits when people come together to support one another.

At De La Cruz Farms, community service is more than a one-time event—it’s an ongoing partnership. By working together, learning from one another, and giving back whenever possible, the farm and its neighbors continue to build a stronger, more connected community.
